Needs stronger hoops

I love the way this piece looks but the small hoops are very dainty and thin. The chain is not adhered to the hoop, so if the hoop comes undone, the chain falls out completely. I’ve already lost one of the hoops and am looking for alternatives to apply the chain to. Otherwise, I’m only able to wear it as a very long dangle earring. Very frustrating because, again, I love the way this looks on.
